You love each other, you share a thousand little things… and yet, conversations sometimes circle back. If you feel the routine settling in, I have a simple and effective solution: a Who Could game specially designed for two. In 15 minutes, these questions for couples reignite the laughter, open the communication, and strengthen your bond without any hassle.

Rules and tips for playing Who Could as a couple

The principle is childish: we read a question starting with “Who could…”, then each points to the person involved (or says their name). No points, no winner – just a moment for two that feels good.

  • Define a clear intention: to laugh, to get to know each other better, or both.
  • Establish a benevolent frame: we tease, we don’t hurt. Set your limits before starting.
  • Rhythm: 5 to 10 questions per “round” are enough to keep the energy.
  • Alternate: everyone reads a question in turn for balance.
  • Finish with a mini debrief: what surprised you, what you liked.
Rule of gold: “We play with each other, never against each other.” The goal is the connection, not to be right.

Pro tip: transform this game into a weekly couple ritual. Every other Thursday, 15 minutes, a drink, a candle, and go.

Variations and ideas to energize the game

Do you have five minutes? Try the “lightning” option: 5 random questions and a hug if you answer the same on 3/5. Want a challenge? Give yourselves a light penalty (a compliment, a one-minute massage) if you pointed to each other three times in a row.

Other twists I often use to maintain active listening and the fun:

  • Mode “story”: after each answer, tell a related anecdote.
  • Mode “revelation”: a joker card allows you to pose an intimate sub-question.
  • Mode “playlist”: any music question must be accompanied by a clip.

After the game: turning answers into real connection

The real gain is what you do with it next. Identify 1 or 2 concrete ideas to try this week: a little morning ritual, a screen-free evening, a thematical home dinner. Revisit in a few days: what felt good? what reflects you?

If a question stung a bit, name it calmly and set a new limit together. The aim isn’t to have the same tastes, but to discover the other with curiosity and respect.
